Refund policy
RETURN AND REFUND POLICY
Last updated: 21 July 2026
1. ABOUT THIS POLICY
This Return and Refund Policy explains how cancellations, returns, exchanges, faulty products and refunds are handled by Blue Dragon Designs Limited, trading as Bantam Apparel.
In this policy:
-
“Bantam Apparel”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Blue Dragon Designs Limited;
-
“you” and “your” mean the customer who purchased the product; and
-
“product” means any item purchased directly from bantamapparel.co.uk.
This policy applies only to products purchased directly from Bantam Apparel. Products purchased from another retailer or marketplace must normally be returned through the business from which they were purchased.
This policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service and Shipping Policy.
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your statutory consumer rights.
2. INFORMATION ABOUT US
Bantam Apparel is a trading name of:
Blue Dragon Designs Limited
Company number: 14773911
Registered in England and Wales
Registered office and returns address:
Workshop At
54 Beckfield Road
Bingley
England
BD16 1QS
Email: shopify@bantamapparel.co.uk
Website: bantamapparel.co.uk
Please contact us before sending a return so that we can provide the correct instructions and identify your parcel when it arrives.
Requesting that you contact us first does not affect your statutory cancellation or consumer rights.
3. SUMMARY OF YOUR RETURN RIGHTS
Depending on the reason for the return, you may be entitled to return a product under:
-
your statutory 14-day right to cancel an eligible online order;
-
our voluntary 30-day returns policy;
-
your statutory rights where a product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described; or
-
any additional mandatory consumer rights that apply in your country.
These rights operate differently and are explained below.
4. OUR VOLUNTARY 30-DAY RETURNS POLICY
In addition to your statutory rights, Bantam Apparel offers a voluntary 30-day returns policy for eligible products.
You must contact us within 30 days after receiving the product to request a return.
To qualify under our voluntary returns policy, the product must normally be:
-
unworn, other than being tried on as you would in a shop;
-
unused;
-
unwashed;
-
free from marks, stains, odours, deodorant, make-up, pet hair and other contamination;
-
free from accidental damage;
-
returned with any original tags still attached; and
-
securely packaged to prevent damage during return transit.
Where possible, please return the product in its original packaging.
The absence of original packaging will not automatically prevent a return, provided that the product is securely packaged and otherwise meets the applicable return conditions.
Our voluntary 30-day returns policy does not replace, restrict or shorten any statutory rights you may have.
5. STATUTORY RIGHT TO CANCEL AN ONLINE ORDER
Where you purchase an eligible product online as a consumer, you will normally have the right to cancel the contract without giving a reason.
You may tell us that you wish to cancel at any time from the date the contract is formed until 14 days after the day on which you receive the product.
Where an order contains multiple products delivered separately, the cancellation period normally ends 14 days after the day on which you receive the final product from that order.
To exercise your right to cancel, you must send us a clear statement that you wish to cancel.
You may do this by:
-
emailing shopify@bantamapparel.co.uk; or
-
completing and sending the optional cancellation form at the end of this policy.
You do not have to use the cancellation form.
Your cancellation notice must be sent before the cancellation period expires.
6. RETURNING A PRODUCT AFTER CANCELLATION
After notifying us that you wish to cancel an eligible order, you must return the product without undue delay.
The product must be sent back no later than 14 days after the date on which you told us that you wished to cancel.
Unless we have agreed to collect the product, it should be returned to:
Bantam Apparel Returns
Workshop At
54 Beckfield Road
Bingley

BD16 1QS
Please include a note containing:
-
your full name;
-
your order number;
-
your email address; and
-
the reason for the return, where you are willing to provide it.
You do not have to give a reason when exercising a statutory right to cancel.
We strongly recommend using a tracked or otherwise recorded delivery service and retaining proof of postage until your return and refund have been completed.
7. RETURN POSTAGE FOR CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS
You are responsible for the direct cost of returning a product where:
-
you have changed your mind;
-
you ordered the wrong size or colour;
-
the product is unwanted;
-
the product does not suit you; or
-
you are returning it under our voluntary returns policy without alleging a fault.
We do not currently provide prepaid return labels for ordinary change-of-mind returns unless we expressly agree otherwise.
Any original delivery charge will be handled in accordance with section 16 of this policy.
8. PRINT-TO-ORDER PRODUCTS
Most Bantam Apparel products are printed after an order is placed.
A product is not automatically personalised, bespoke or excluded from cancellation rights merely because it is printed after your order is received.
A standard Bantam Apparel design printed onto a standard garment remains eligible for applicable cancellation and return rights.
The personalised-product exception described below applies only where the product has been made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised for you.
9. PERSONALISED AND CUSTOM-MADE PRODUCTS
Change-of-mind cancellation and return rights may not apply to products that are:
-
made to your individual specifications;
-
clearly personalised;
-
printed using wording supplied by you;
-
printed using an image or artwork supplied by you;
-
produced using a unique design commissioned specifically for you; or
-
otherwise made in a form that cannot reasonably be resold.
Examples may include products featuring:
-
a customer’s name;
-
a registration number;
-
personalised wording;
-
a customer-supplied photograph;
-
a custom logo; or
-
a one-off commissioned design.
We will make it clear before purchase where a product is personalised or custom-made.
This exclusion applies only to change-of-mind returns. It does not affect your rights where the personalised or custom-made product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
10. OTHER PRODUCTS THAT MAY NOT BE RETURNABLE
Change-of-mind cancellation rights may not apply to:
-
sealed products that are not suitable for return for health-protection or hygiene reasons where the seal has been broken after delivery;
-
products that have been inseparably mixed with other items after delivery;
-
perishable products;
-
digital content supplied immediately after the required consent and acknowledgement have been obtained; or
-
any other product that is legally excluded from cancellation rights.
These exclusions do not remove your rights where a product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
11. TRYING ON AND HANDLING PRODUCTS
You may inspect and try on clothing in the same way that you reasonably would in a physical shop.
This normally includes:
-
removing the product carefully from its packaging;
-
checking the size, colour and design;
-
inspecting the fabric and construction; and
-
trying the product on briefly.
You should not:
-
wear the product for an extended period;
-
wash it;
-
alter it;
-
remove permanent labels or tags;
-
expose it to smoke, strong fragrances, pets or contaminants;
-
damage the print or garment; or
-
use it beyond what is reasonably necessary to assess its nature, characteristics and fit.
Where handling has reduced the value of a product beyond what would reasonably be permitted in a shop, we may make an appropriate deduction from the refund where the law permits us to do so.
We will not make a deduction merely because you removed ordinary delivery packaging or tried the product on reasonably.
12. FAULTY, DAMAGED, INCORRECT OR MISDESCRIBED PRODUCTS
We are legally required to supply products that are:
-
of satisfactory quality;
-
fit for their normal purpose;
-
fit for any particular purpose made known to us and accepted by us;
-
as described; and
-
consistent with any sample or model provided, where applicable.
Please contact us promptly if:
-
your product is faulty;
-
your product arrived damaged;
-
the printed design is materially defective;
-
you received the wrong product;
-
you received the wrong size or colour;
-
an item is missing from your order; or
-
the product is materially different from its description.
Contact us at:
Please provide:
-
your name;
-
your order number;
-
a clear explanation of the issue;
-
photographs showing the product and the problem, where reasonably possible; and
-
photographs of the packaging where transit damage is alleged.
Requesting photographs helps us investigate the problem and does not remove your statutory rights.
You should contact us as soon as reasonably possible, particularly where transit damage is involved. However, failure to report an issue within an arbitrary short period such as 24 or 48 hours will not automatically remove your statutory rights.
13. REMEDIES FOR FAULTY PRODUCTS
Where a product does not comply with your statutory rights, the remedy available will depend on factors including:
-
when the problem was identified;
-
the nature of the fault;
-
whether repair or replacement is possible;
-
whether a previous repair or replacement has failed; and
-
the remedy required by applicable consumer law.
Where applicable, your remedies may include:
-
rejecting the product for a refund;
-
repair;
-
replacement;
-
a price reduction; or
-
a final right to reject the product.
Consumers will normally have a short-term right to reject faulty goods during the first 30 days after ownership, delivery and any required installation have taken place.
After the short-term right to reject has ended, you may normally be entitled to request a repair or replacement before seeking a price reduction or final rejection, subject to the circumstances and applicable law.
Nothing in this policy restricts the remedies available under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
14. RETURN COSTS FOR FAULTY OR INCORRECT PRODUCTS
Where a product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or materially different from its description, Bantam Apparel will bear the reasonable cost of returning the product where required by law.
Depending on the circumstances, we may:
-
provide a prepaid return label;
-
arrange collection;
-
provide another suitable return method; or
-
reimburse reasonable return postage costs.
You must contact us before arranging an unusually expensive return service.
We are not responsible for unnecessary premium delivery charges where a reasonable lower-cost return method was available and no premium method was agreed with us.
15. ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE, MISUSE AND NORMAL WEAR
We are not responsible for problems caused by:
-
accidental damage after delivery;
-
misuse;
-
failure to follow the care instructions;
-
washing at an unsuitable temperature;
-
tumble drying where prohibited;
-
ironing directly over printed artwork;
-
using bleach or unsuitable chemicals;
-
deliberate alteration;
-
unauthorised repair;
-
excessive wear; or
-
normal deterioration resulting from reasonable use over time.
This does not affect your rights where the underlying problem was caused by a manufacturing defect, defective print, inaccurate description or another breach of contract by us.
16. ORIGINAL DELIVERY CHARGES
Where you validly cancel an entire eligible online order under your statutory cancellation rights, we will refund the price paid for the returned products and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option.
If you chose a delivery method that was more expensive than our least expensive standard option, we are not required to refund the additional delivery cost.
For example, where standard delivery cost £3.99 but you selected an enhanced service costing £7.99, the maximum delivery refund would normally be £3.99.
Where you return only part of an order, the original delivery charge will not normally be refunded unless:
-
the charge would have been lower had you ordered only the products you kept;
-
the returned product was faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied; or
-
applicable law requires a refund.
Original delivery charges are not normally refunded under our voluntary 30-day returns policy unless the whole order is also covered by your statutory cancellation rights.
17. REFUND AMOUNTS
Subject to this policy and your statutory rights, a refund may include:
-
the amount paid for the returned product;
-
applicable standard outward delivery charges; and
-
reasonable return costs where the product was faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
A refund may be reduced where legally permitted to reflect:
-
handling beyond what was reasonably necessary to inspect the product;
-
damage caused after delivery;
-
missing components;
-
removed tags;
-
washing, alteration or use; or
-
another reduction in value caused by the customer.
We will explain any proposed deduction and the reason for it.
No deduction will be made for reasonable inspection or trying on.
18. WHEN REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED
For a valid statutory cancellation, we will issue the refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after:
-
the day we receive the returned product; or
-
the day you provide satisfactory evidence that you sent the product back,
whichever occurs first.
We may withhold the refund until:
-
we receive the returned product; or
-
you provide evidence that it has been returned.
Where a refund relates to a faulty product, we will issue it without undue delay and within the period required by applicable consumer law after agreeing that a refund is due.
Once a refund has been issued by us, your bank, card provider or payment provider may take additional time to process and display it in your account. This processing time is outside our control.
19. REFUND METHOD
Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original purchase.
We will not charge you a fee for issuing a refund.
Where the original payment method is no longer available, we will contact you to agree a lawful and appropriate alternative.
Refunds will be made to the original purchaser and payment account unless the law requires or the payment provider permits otherwise.
20. SALE AND DISCOUNTED PRODUCTS
Products purchased during a sale, promotion or using a discount code have the same statutory rights as products purchased at full price.
Sale or discounted products may be returned under:
-
statutory cancellation rights;
-
our voluntary 30-day returns policy; and
-
statutory faulty-goods rights,
provided that the relevant conditions are met.
A reduced price does not remove your rights unless the product was discounted because of a specific fault that was clearly brought to your attention before purchase.
You cannot later reject a product solely because of a fault that was specifically disclosed to you before purchase, although your other statutory rights remain unaffected.
21. EXCHANGES
We do not currently guarantee direct exchanges.
Where you would like a different size, colour or design, the quickest method will normally be to:
-
return the original product in accordance with this policy; and
-
place a separate order for the replacement product.
This helps prevent the replacement size or design from selling out while the return is in transit.
We may agree to a direct exchange at our discretion, subject to availability.
Where a product is faulty or incorrectly supplied, we will provide the remedy required by applicable consumer law. This may include a replacement without requiring you to place a new paid order.
22. INCORRECT SIZE OR CHANGE OF PREFERENCE
Selecting an incorrect size, changing your mind about the colour or deciding that a product does not suit you will normally be treated as a change-of-mind return rather than a product fault.
You may still return the product where:
-
you notify us within the applicable return period;
-
the product is eligible for return;
-
the product has only been handled reasonably; and
-
you comply with the return requirements in this policy.
For change-of-mind returns, you will normally be responsible for return postage.
Please consult our Size Guide before ordering. Size-guide measurements are approximate and reasonable manufacturing tolerances may apply.
Where the product supplied does not match the size ordered or materially differs from the published description or measurements, it may be treated as an incorrectly supplied or misdescribed product rather than a change-of-mind return.
23. RETURNED PARCELS LOST OR DAMAGED IN TRANSIT
You are responsible for a change-of-mind return until it is delivered to us.
We recommend using:
-
appropriate protective packaging;
-
a tracked or recorded service; and
-
a service that provides proof of postage.
We cannot normally refund a change-of-mind return that is lost before reaching us unless you provide evidence sufficient to exercise a statutory cancellation right or recover the parcel through the delivery provider.
Where we provide a prepaid label or arrange the return carrier for a faulty or incorrect product, responsibility for transit will normally remain with us once the product has been handed to the nominated carrier in accordance with our instructions.
24. ITEMS RETURNED WITHOUT IDENTIFICATION
Please include your name and order number inside the return parcel.
Where we receive a return that cannot be connected to an order, the refund may be delayed while we attempt to identify the customer.
We will take reasonable steps to identify an unmarked return, but we cannot guarantee that this will be possible without appropriate order information.
25. UNAUTHORISED RETURNS
Please contact us before returning a product so that we can provide the correct return instructions and record your request.
Products sent without contacting us first will not automatically lose their statutory protection.
However, failing to follow reasonable return instructions may:
-
delay identification and processing;
-
result in the parcel being sent to the wrong location; or
-
leave you responsible for avoidable additional costs.
This section does not permit us to refuse a valid statutory cancellation or faulty-goods claim solely because prior authorisation was not obtained.
26. REFUSED DELIVERIES AND UNCOLLECTED PARCELS
Refusing delivery or failing to collect a parcel does not necessarily constitute a valid cancellation.
You should contact us clearly if you wish to cancel your order.
Where an order is returned to us because:
-
the delivery address supplied was incorrect or incomplete;
-
delivery was refused without a valid cancellation;
-
delivery attempts were unsuccessful; or
-
the parcel was not collected,
we may deduct reasonable return or redelivery costs where legally permitted.
This does not apply where the delivery failure was caused by us or the delivery provider, or where you validly exercised a statutory cancellation right.
27. FREE GIFTS, MULTIBUY OFFERS AND BUNDLES
Where a refund affects a promotion, bundle, multibuy offer or free gift, the refund will be calculated according to the terms of that promotion.
Where returning a product means that the remaining order no longer qualifies for a discount or free gift, we may:
-
recalculate the price of the retained products;
-
deduct the value of an unreturned free gift; or
-
ask for the free gift to be returned,
provided that this is fair, transparent and legally permitted.
Statutory rights concerning faulty products remain unaffected.
28. GIFT CARDS
Gift cards are not normally refundable or exchangeable for cash after they have been issued, except where:
-
required by law;
-
the gift card was purchased online and remains subject to an applicable statutory cancellation right;
-
the gift card is faulty or unusable; or
-
we agree otherwise.
Refunds for products purchased using a gift card will normally be returned to a gift card or store-credit balance, subject to applicable law and the capabilities of our payment system.
Any amount paid using another payment method will normally be refunded to that method.
29. PROOF OF PURCHASE
We may ask you to provide reasonable evidence that the product was purchased from Bantam Apparel.
Suitable proof may include:
-
an order confirmation;
-
a dispatch email;
-
an order number;
-
a receipt;
-
the email address used for the order;
-
a bank or payment-provider statement; or
-
another record connecting the purchase to Bantam Apparel.
Lack of an original paper receipt will not automatically prevent a valid claim where other satisfactory evidence of purchase is available.
30. RETURNS FROM OUTSIDE THE UNITED KINGDOM
Customers returning products from outside the United Kingdom are responsible for:
-
arranging appropriate return delivery;
-
completing any required customs documentation accurately; and
-
clearly marking the parcel as returned goods where appropriate.
Change-of-mind customers are responsible for international return postage, customs charges and other return costs unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Do not incorrectly declare the product as a gift.
Where a product is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, please contact us before returning it so that we can agree an appropriate and proportionate return method.
We are not responsible for customs charges caused by incorrect or incomplete return documentation supplied by the customer.
Nothing in this policy removes mandatory consumer rights that apply in the country where you live.
31. COMPLAINTS
Please contact us if you are unhappy with how a return or refund has been handled.
Email:
Please provide:
-
your name;
-
your order number;
-
details of the issue;
-
relevant photographs or documents; and
-
the outcome you are seeking.
We will investigate the matter and respond within a reasonable period.
You may also obtain independent consumer advice from Citizens Advice or the relevant consumer-advice service for your part of the United Kingdom.
32. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect:
-
changes in law;
-
changes to our products or processes;
-
changes to delivery or return arrangements; or
-
improvements in clarity.
The policy that applies to a purchase will normally be the version in force when the order was placed, except where a later version provides greater rights or must apply by law.
We will not retrospectively reduce your statutory rights.
